Desktop client 1.0: rebuilt from scratch

The desktop client got a complete rewrite: the Race Poster design in light and dark, news on the overview, DDS generation and a sync log. Your settings come along.
After the website, it is the desktop client's turn. Version 1.0 is a complete rewrite with a new interface, and it keeps your settings and followed collections just as they are.
A fresh look: the same "Race Poster" design as the website, in light and dark mode.
News on the overview: the latest posts from awesome-simracing.com show up right in the app, and a small diamond tells you when there is something new.
DDS files, ready for ACC: if you like, the client generates the DDS files from decals.png and sponsors.png in ACC's own format, so ACC no longer converts them in-game. It picks the right files for your texture setting automatically, or you choose 0, 1 and _2 yourself.
See what happens: the new sync log shows every step of a sync, during and after the run.
Clearer errors: an invalid API key is reported as such, in the settings and on sync.
Lots of fixes: links and folder shortcuts open again, missing Customs folders are created, and generated DDS files are no longer removed on every sync.
How to update: your current client updates itself. If it still runs from Program Files afterwards, a banner offers the new installer, which can also remove the old installation for you. You can also grab the installer on the desktop client page. I dropped code signing because of its absurd costs, so Windows may warn you once: click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
